Gm frens, this is the final news round-up for July.

Ripple pushes RLUSD into institutions, Samsung wallet plans stablecoin support, as the crypto industry can contribute $55B to the U.S. economy in 2026. Is Ethereum poised for a $7K long-term target? Circle’s IBM deal yields multiple patents, and Zypto.com v2: A research-first upgrade.

Let’s get to it.

Ripple makes moves to push RLUSD into institutions

Ripple has launched Ripple Mint, a platform that lets institutions mint, redeem, and manage Ripple USD (RLUSD) through one console. Ripple Mint replaces the platform-only setup institutions previously used for RLUSD operations.

The system tracks transactions in real time and sends webhook alerts for fiat receipt, minting, and on-chain settlement. Consistent reference IDs tie every stage together, which simplifies reconciliation for exchanges and market makers. Users can choose a web console for manual oversight, or new application programming interfaces (APIs) for automated workflows.

The company also invested in Notabene, a compliance firm, to add identity checks and transaction authorization to its stablecoin network. Ripple’s investment in Notabene targets a persistent regulatory concern: identity verification before a transaction settles. Notabene works with banks and virtual asset service providers (VASPs) to share compliance data before funds move.

Its network screens counterparties and authorizes transfers, mirroring demands facing firms tracked among digital asset compliance firms. That pairing follows Ripple Payments’ recent Markets in Crypto-Assets registration in Europe. Consequently, institutions gain one path for moving RLUSD and clearing it against sanctions rules.

As Ripple’s partnership announcements continue to pile up, this major platform launch could provide a long-term catalyst for the token’s future growth. RLUSD now bridges the XRP Ledger’s EVM Sidechain, Base, Optimism, Ink, and Unichain, widening its reach well beyond XRPL.

Every transaction the XRP Ledger processes still burns a small amount of XRP as a network fee, tying rising RLUSD activity to XRP’s shrinking supply. Ripple maintains that this multichain spread reinforces the XRP Ledger over time, and traders may see that thesis play out as adoption grows.

With Ripple Mint now accessible to existing RLUSD users, the collaboration with Notabene creates a secure regulatory framework. It is poised to spark fresh institutional volume while reinforcing current adoption. Data over the coming months will reveal the impact of this network effect.

Samsung wallet plans stablecoin support

Samsung Electronics plans to add stablecoin support to Samsung Wallet, expanding its mobile payments and rewards platform to include digital assets. The South Korean technology giant is moving toward integrating payments, rewards and digital assets into a single wallet experience.

Samsung’s product manager Lee Dinham spoke during the annual Galaxy Unpacked showcase last Wednesday. He said, “Samsung Wallet will expand beyond cash and savings. It will embrace new forms of digital value, including stablecoins.”

Samsung Wallet was already a hub for payments, keys, IDs, boarding passes, and crypto-related functions before the new 2026 roadmap was released. In July 2025, Samsung announced a collaboration between Samsung Pay and a crypto exchange as a payment option in the U.S. and Canada.

Samsung Wallet already combines payment cards, rewards and other services, while the company’s recently introduced Galaxy Card adds another layer to its growing financial ecosystem.

The stablecoin roadmap could take Samsung further into the transaction flow. A balance held with a partner, a way to access provider-managed assets, and a link that only funds another account can all appear inside one interface while distributing control and value to different companies.

Samsung has reserved space in Wallet for an undefined stablecoin function. It can choose the token, network and service providers behind that function, while the public record contains no commercial or technical selection. Samsung’s 2026 roadmap puts those decisions ahead of the launch. The issuer, custody model and network will determine who controls each layer behind the Wallet interface.

The stablecoin announcement marks the company’s latest step toward integrating blockchain-based assets into its broader mobile ecosystem. Samsung has not disclosed which stablecoins it plans to support, a launch timeline, or its partners for the planned wallet functionality.

Crypto industry to contribute $55B to U.S. economy in 2026

Research from the National Cryptocurrency Association (NCA), an organization backed by Ripple Labs, broke down the economic impact of the entire crypto industry on the United States. It estimated that salaries, worker spending and output will have contributed $55 billion this year.

According to a report released by the Pragmatic Policy Group on behalf of the NCA, the total economic contribution was based on direct, indirect and induced employment. Of the sectors to benefit from crypto’s economic contributions, the NCA said that investments in securities and commodity contracts were among the highest at $9.7 billion, while housing and real estate were a combined $4.8 billion.

The research found that about 34,000 people in the U.S. were directly employed by crypto companies, accounting for just a fraction of the 232,000 jobs supported by the industry across the entire economy. This would mean crypto companies directly employ more Americans than the coffee and tea manufacturing and aerospace industries, according to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Bar chart of direct employment: the crypto industry (34,000) vs coffee and tea manufacturing, aerospace, cement and tobacco in 2026

Among the individual U.S. states, Texas, Washington, North Carolina, California and New York employed the most people involved in the industry. However, Colorado was a ‘growing blockchain hub’ based on friendly regulatory policies, according to the economic report.

The NCA added that North Dakota was “becoming an energy-integrated digital infrastructure hub” due to the state’s tax laws favoring crypto mining and favorable flare gas policies. The NCA launched in March 2025 as a non-profit organization focused on consumer crypto education, with $50 million in backing from Ripple.

Several projects tied to digital assets announced they would be shuttering operations this year for various reasons, including difficulty with scaling and market conditions. They include Entropy and Dmail, while decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) like Tally and Balancer Labs shuttered earlier in March.

Is Ethereum poised for a $7K long-term target?

Pseudonymous crypto trader NoName says Ethereum has just crossed into the price zone where its bear market has historically bottomed, pointing to four straight lower highs as proof the downtrend has run its course.

The trader, who is buying through the dip with a long-term target of $7,000, argues that the same crowd psychology that made ETH a fan favorite trade at $4,900 is now working against it below $2,000.

In a post shared on X, NoName laid out Ethereum’s decline through four descending peaks: $4,957, then $3,400, then $2,460, then $1,950, calling it a textbook downtrend. Each top landed lower than the one before it, and the trader said that sequence has now pushed price into the $1,300 to $1,900 range, the zone treated as the eventual floor.

The reasoning is less technical than psychological, with the analyst noting that ETH at $4,900 was a favorite while ETH under $2,000 gets called a dead chain. Even though nothing about the network changed, NoName added that the climb back up will likely be rough.

Other signals moved the same day, including a bullish crossover in ETH’s MVRV ratio against its 160-day moving average as pointed out by chartist Ali Martinez. That setup has come right before several major recoveries in the past by marking the end of distribution phases.

Meanwhile, Arab Chain reported that Ethereum’s 30-day funding rate average climbed roughly 0.00339, its highest reading in six months. With ETH trading near $1,920 at the time, it is a sign of improving sentiment, though not yet at levels tied to past corrections.

Yet, not everyone is convinced the bottom is in.

CryptoQuant struck a more cautious note, noting that ETH was trading roughly 17% below its realized price but that only two of five bottom-signal metrics it tracks have reached historical extremes.

Whale buying has continued regardless. Lookonchain tracked a wallet purchasing 27,000 ETH worth $52 million through Galaxy Digital’s OTC desk, and Arthur Hayes’ company added another 644 ETH. At the same time, spot Ethereum ETFs have pulled in over $408 million this month, and Kalshi traders are pricing ETH near $3,200 by year’s end.

Circle’s IBM deal yields multiple patents

USDC issuer Circle Internet Group has acquired assets from IBM’s blockchain patent portfolio in a bid to expand its intellectual property holdings. The portfolio includes more than 680 patent families and nearly 1,000 issued patents worldwide. Neither company disclosed the price.

The assets cover foundational blockchain technology, banking, financial services, insurance, enterprise infrastructure, supply chain verification, and secure cloud operations. Circle said the deal makes it the largest holder of blockchain patents in the U.S.

According to the stablecoin issuer, the expanded patent portfolio will support products including USDC, Circle Payments Network, Arc, as well as its lineup of on-chain products and agentic financial tools. The two companies also plan to pursue further business opportunities together.

The latest development comes more than three years after Circle joined the LOT Network, a global nonprofit that helps protect members from patent lawsuits brought by Patent Assertion Entities (PAEs). The main objective was to lower legal risks while supporting the development of blockchain-based products and services.

Earlier this month, Circle received approval from the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to roll out First National Digital Currency Bank, N.A., which will operate as Circle National Trust. The charter will allow the stablecoin issuer to provide fiduciary crypto custody services.

It also joined the Linux Foundation’s x402 Foundation as a premier member, along with other industry players such as Ripple and the Solana Foundation. The initiative aims to support the development of an open standard for internet-native payments that enables AI agents, APIs, and applications to transact over HTTP.

Also, BNY Mellon expanded its partnership with Circle by adding USDC to its Digital Asset Custody platform. This integration lets institutional clients store, transfer, mint, and redeem the stablecoin while strengthening the bank’s role as the primary custodian of USDC reserves.

Zypto.com v2: A research-first upgrade

The Zypto.com v2 update focuses on turning the platform into a discovery engine for more than 25,000 cryptocurrencies, moving beyond simple price stickers to a structured view of projects, markets, and ecosystems. The redesign is positioned as a companion to the Zypto App, extending the company’s ‘crypto super app’ ambition into the research layer of the experience.

At the core of the new site is coverage for over 25,000 cryptocurrencies, including large-cap assets, emerging tokens, and niche projects across multiple blockchains. Users can browse live prices, market changes, and asset-level data, helping them quickly identify trends, outliers, and potential opportunities in a crowded market.

Zypto.com v2 introduces crypto heatmaps and other visual tools that condense thousands of assets into digestible, color-coded views. These heatmaps surface which sectors, chains, or categories are moving most in real time, allowing users to spot momentum without manually scanning endless lists.

Beyond spot markets, the platform now highlights liquidity pools and DeFi-related metrics, reflecting Zypto’s deeper push into decentralized finance. By connecting on-chain liquidity data with token research, Zypto aims to give users better context around how actively a token is traded and supported within DeFi infrastructure.

Zypto is also pairing raw market data with educational content that explains blockchain ecosystems, networks, and use cases in plain language. These guides are intended to help users understand not just what a token is doing price-wise, but where it fits within a broader technology stack or narrative, from major smart contract platforms to niche infrastructure plays.

The research experience on Zypto.com v2 sits alongside the company’s broader product suite, which includes a self-custodial wallet, crypto payments, and card services built into the Zypto App. This alignment is part of Zypto’s strategy to become an end-to-end ecosystem where users can research a project, hold assets, swap across chains, and ultimately spend or deploy their crypto.

As more platforms compete to become the default dashboard for on-chain data, Zypto is betting on a mix of multiple assets, live market visuals, and ecosystem-level guides to stand out. The approach reflects a broader trend in crypto tooling: reducing friction between learning about assets and acting on that information. This includes trading, DeFi participation, and real-world payments.
