Gm frens, here’s the second news round-up for August.

Cloudflare’s future stablecoin payments plans; dormant 15-year-old Bitcoin wallet moves millions, as Solana processes 1B transactions. Ethereum targets $5K, while GTA 6 publisher’s stock hits Solana, and PUMP could join crypto’s top 10 by 2028. Finally, Zypto adds Tether Gold to its crypto app.

Let’s dive in.

Cloudflare plans for future stablecoin payments

Cloudflare has recently introduced Cloudflare Wallets, a programmable wallet for artificial intelligence (AI) agents designed to support stablecoin payments. It said users can claim a Cloudflare Wallet handle immediately, while payment features will roll out later.

The U.S. cloud infrastructure company noted in a blog post that the product aims to simplify how AI agents identify themselves and pay for application programming interfaces (API) and digital content through stablecoin micropayments, enabling what it calls ‘agentic commerce.’

A Cloudflare spokesperson mentioned that “Handle reservation is live now at cloudflare.pay where users can claim their identity. Full wallet functionality like onramping and offramping funds, and issuing virtual wallets will roll out in the coming months.”

The company plans to integrate the wallets with its recently announced Monetization Gateway, which is used to enable stablecoin micropayments. Cloudflare software engineer Will Papper wrote in the blog post about how the wallets will also let users store stablecoins and receive payments across the web.

Finally, the spokesperson said Cloudflare is not yet specifying which stablecoins or blockchain networks the wallets will support. Onramping and offramping will initially launch in supported geographies, while eligible users outside those markets will be able to self-fund their wallets with stablecoins.

Dormant 15-year-old Bitcoin wallet moves millions

An old Bitcoin address holding millions in Bitcoin that had not made any transactions in over 14 years suddenly reactivated yesterday. Per Galaxy Research’s monitoring, the Bitcoin address beginning in “1EBz” first took in the Bitcoin on July 16, 2011, when BTC traded under $15. It sat untouched until 20:14 UTC on August 6, 2026, when a single transaction swept the balance to a fresh address.

Bitcoin wallet dormant since 2011 reactivating, sweeping 49.97 BTC to a fresh address on August 6, 2026

At roughly $10 per coin, the 49.97 BTC cost about $500 to acquire in mid-2011. Priced near $65,000 today, the position is worth $3.23 million, a 634,347% gain. That return profile is specific to Bitcoin’s earliest years, when the asset was a thinly traded experiment rather than a $1.3 trillion market. Few holders kept the funds, or the keys, that long.

The destination wallet then sent funds to a FalconX-labeled wallet, according to data from Arkham Intelligence. FalconX is a prime broker that serves trading firms and institutions, not a retail exchange. The link does not confirm a sale, but it does raise the possibility that whoever controls the coins is consolidating them or staging a move closer to a venue where they could be sold or used as collateral.

This isn’t a one-off. Old coins waking up is a recurring theme in Bitcoin, and makes waves almost every time a movement like this happens. A Satoshi-era Bitcoin whale moved $11 million after 12 years asleep back in 2023, and another ancient stash changed wallets after 12 years dormant.

In most of those cases, the destination pointed to professional infrastructure, not a private holder suddenly cashing out.

The metric watchers use here is “Coin Days Destroyed,” also called Satoshi Days. Every day a coin stays unmoved, it accrues one “day” of age. When it finally moves, those accumulated days are destroyed at once, so a single transfer from a 2011 wallet erases more than 5,400 days per coin.

A big print can mean an early adopter is taking profit, or simply relocating coins for security or custody. The number shows the movement happened; it does not say why, which is why some traders expect a price dump if the hodler realizes their profit. The BTC remains in the receiving address as of Friday.

Solana processes 1B transactions in a week

Solana has kicked off August by proving why it’s one of the most efficient Layer-1 (L1) blockchains. On the fundamentals side, two major network upgrades are gaining momentum. The first is the deflationary upgrade, which has officially entered its final voting stage.

Meanwhile, SIMD-0525 is now live on testnet, cutting slot time from 400 ms to 350 ms as the first step toward a 200 ms slot time. Together, these developments point to a faster network, reinforcing Solana’s scalability thesis heading into Q4.

The key takeaway is that the impact is already showing up on-chain. As the chart below highlights, Solana’s weekly transaction count crossed the 1 billion mark for the first time, reaching a record 1,012,226,009 transactions from the 27th of July to the 2nd of August.

Solana weekly transaction count crossing 1 billion for the first time, a record 1,012,226,009 transactions

In essence, Solana’s network upgrades aren’t just improving performance on paper. Instead, they’re supporting record transaction throughput as on-chain activity continues to scale. From a fundamentals standpoint, that’s a strong signal.

Sustained transaction growth reinforces Solana’s core strengths, such as high TPS, low-latency finality, and the network’s ability to process more activity. However, while the 1 billion weekly transaction milestone clearly validates Solana’s scalability, another key on-chain signal appears to be emerging. If it continues to build, it could give Solana (SOL) an additional edge as the market heads toward Q4.

Over the past year, Solana has led all major L1s in the growth of tokenized gold, one of the fastest-growing segments within the RWA market. To put into context, since August 2025, Solana’s tokenized gold market cap has grown 689.1%, averaging 18.8% month-over-month growth.

The timing couldn’t be better. From a macro perspective, gold is regaining momentum, with spot prices climbing above $4,200/oz to their highest level since June 2022. If the rally extends, it could drive fresh demand for tokenized gold, an area where Solana already holds a clear growth advantage.

Ethereum targets $5K on institutional demand

Ethereum has been hovering near the $1,900 level after climbing almost 9% over the past month, but it is still far below its previous all-time high. New data suggests the crypto asset is building a strong long-term setup, as technical signals and institutional demand continue to support the broader outlook.

Analyst Crypto Patel said that the leading altcoin is showing one of its strongest high-timeframe bullish structures. After several failed attempts, ETH has reclaimed its long-term descending trendline and is now consolidating above it.

According to the analyst, the structure remains valid as long as it records daily closes above $1,510. Based on the technical analysis, upside targets of $2,400, $3,000, $3,600, $4,200, and $5,000 were identified, with the final target potentially pushing ETH toward a new all-time high.

Another bullish signal came from the MVRV Momentum golden cross, according to Ali Martinez. The analyst said that a move toward $3,000 could be on the cards after the altcoin broke above the MVRV level near $1,800. They explained that major rallies followed similar golden cross signals in the past.

While analysts have different short-term targets, they broadly agree that the structure is improving. Michael van de Poppe also sees more upside for Ethereum. According to the MN Fund Founder, a breakout appears to be a matter of time, with ETH potentially moving toward the $2,300-$2,500 range.

Beyond price action, corporate treasuries have overtaken exchange-traded funds (ETFs) as the biggest buyers of Ethereum. The analyst also found that nearly 11% of the asset’s total supply is already locked by ETFs and digital asset treasury (DAT) companies. The growing share of ETH held by these entities points to rising institutional participation in the market.

For instance, Bitmine Immersion kept up its aggressive buying streak last week and added another 10,399 ETH to its treasury. Similarly, Italy’s largest banking group, Intesa Sanpaolo, boosted its Ethereum exposure by increasing its position in a staked ETH ETF from 116,200 shares to 349,600.

GTA 6 publisher’s stock hits Solana

A tokenized version of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) publisher Take-Two Interactive Software’s (TTWO) stock has launched on Solana through Backpack Securities. Holders can now trade the company’s equity straight from a compatible crypto wallet.

Backpack Securities is the tokenization arm of the Solana-based company Backpack. It minted the wrapped TTWO shares and listed them across several venues. Backpack frames the tokens as direct equity claims rather than synthetic price trackers. Each one represents a 1:1 redeemable stake in TTWO shares held through a dedicated custody vehicle, not a derivative contract that only mirrors the stock’s price.

The tokens still settle instantly and trade outside Nasdaq’s normal hours, unlike the underlying stock itself. The listing follows a broader push to move equities on-chain. Backpack tokenized SpaceX shares in June. Robinhood Chain, meanwhile, leads rival platforms in tokenized stock holders, even though meme coins still dominate its trading volume.

Netflix confirmed the GTA 6 special through its Tudum editorial hub. The premiere runs on Netflix first, at 3 p.m. ET on August 27, before Rockstar Games posts it to YouTube and the official GTA VI site six hours later.

Anticipation for the game has been building for months. Take-Two’s July filing confirmed the release date and projected over a billion dollars in fiscal 2027 cash flow. Rising chip costs have also pushed console prices higher across the industry, adding pressure just as GTA 6 nears launch.

Pump.fun’s token could join crypto’s top 10 by 2028

Crypto trader Ansem predicts Pump.fun (PUMP) could become one of the 10 largest cryptos by market capitalization within two years. Ansem said he plans to track the trade from the current cycle’s bottom through new all-time highs.

Ansem’s latest forecast builds on his earlier PUMP purchase at $0.001675. He bought the token with 1,500 Solana (SOL), worth about $115,000 at the time. The trader now argues that PUMP remains undervalued relative to the business behind the token. His thesis focuses on cash holdings, earnings, and the potential for greater activity.

Ansem also pointed to Pump.fun’s mobile app as a possible growth catalyst. The trader summarized his longer-term prediction by saying PUMP “will be top 10 coin by market cap in < 2 years time.”

The trader’s earlier PUMP bullish case entered on the expectation that Solana could regain a larger share of retail trading activity. The latest thesis adds the platform’s financial position and mobile expansion to that argument.

PUMP currently has a market capitalization of about $1.08 billion, ranking 64th among cryptocurrencies by market value. Dogecoin (DOGE) currently ranks 10th, with a market cap of roughly $11 billion.

If PUMP were to match DOGE’s current market value, its capitalization would need to rise by roughly 900%, highlighting the scale of the move needed to reach today’s number 10 position. However, the target is not fixed. Crypto rankings change as token prices and circulating supplies move, meaning PUMP’s eventual top-10 threshold could differ materially.

Zypto adds Tether Gold to its crypto app

Zypto has added support for Tether Gold (XAUt) to its crypto wallet app, giving users a way to buy, manage, send, swap and protect tokenized gold across Ethereum and BNB Chain.

The integration enables users to hold XAUt, a digital asset designed to provide blockchain-based exposure to vaulted physical gold, directly within Zypto App. By adding Tether Gold, Zypto is expanding its offering beyond traditional cryptocurrencies and stablecoins, giving users access to a tokenized asset linked to one of the world’s most established stores of value.

Users can manage XAUt alongside other supported assets in a single self-custody wallet, without moving between separate platforms or relying on third-party wallet extensions.

The launch also gives Zypto App users the flexibility to send and receive Tether Gold on Ethereum and BNB chains, while accessing crosschain swap functionality within the same interface. Zypto’s broader strategy centers on bringing wallets, swaps, payments and crypto asset management into one app, reducing the friction of navigating fragmented blockchain services.

The addition comes as interest in tokenized real-world assets continues to grow, with gold-backed tokens offering crypto users a digital route to gold exposure while retaining the portability and accessibility of blockchain-based assets.

Closing remark

Cloudflare’s new programmable wallets give AI agents an identity and, in coming months, enable stablecoin-based micropayments, storage and transfers. A BTC wallet dormant since 2011 moved 49.97 BTC to a new address, signaling a possible custody consolidation rather than confirming an actual sell-off.

Solana surpassed 1 billion weekly transactions as network upgrades advance. Ethereum’s improving technical structure and rising institutional accumulation have analysts identifying a potential path toward $5,000 if key support levels hold.

Backpack Securities has launched 1:1 redeemable, tokenized Take-Two shares on Solana, allowing compatible-wallet users to trade equity exposure around the clock ahead of GTA 6’s November release.

For now, PUMP remains far below the market capitalization required for that ranking. Ansem’s two-year target, therefore, depends on whether Pump.fun can translate higher retail activity and platform usage into a valuation large enough to close that gap.

Zypto App now supports Tether Gold across Ethereum and BNB Chain, enabling self-custody users to buy, hold, send, receive, swap and protect tokenized gold alongside their other crypto assets.
