The next wave of digital dollars is arriving through companies people already pay with. Stripe’s Bridge issued a new stablecoin with Visa and Mastercard on its partner list, HSBC gave its Hong Kong dollar coin a name and a launch window, and a corporate card company now counts $1.5 billion a year in stablecoin volume.

  • OUSD went live on Base, Ethereum, Solana and Tempo, with more than 200 businesses signed up.
  • HSBC RedCoin, a Hong Kong dollar stablecoin, launches through PayMe in the second half of 2026.
  • $110 million for Jeeves, whose stablecoin card is expanding to 35 countries.
  • Base’s Cobalt upgrade lets token issuers stack compliance checks and let administrators move tokens.

Each one puts a new token in front of people through a familiar door. What travels with it is an issuer, a set of terms, and a question about where the token can go next.

Open Standard switched on OUSD on September 30, a dollar stablecoin issued by Bridge, the stablecoin company Stripe owns. It’s live on Base, Ethereum, Solana and Tempo, with reserves held at BlackRock, Lead Bank and BNY.

More than 200 banks, fintechs and businesses have signed up, and Coinbase, Mastercard, Stripe and Visa are named integration partners. Businesses can mint and redeem 1:1 against dollars at no cost through BVNK, Stripe and the Visa Stablecoin Platform from launch, with Coinbase following on October 1. Partners earn rewards in proportion to the supply and activity they bring, and some can earn equity in Open Standard.

Zypto take: A stablecoin that pays the apps handing it out gives each of those apps a reason to carry it, and that puts dollars that move around the clock in more hands. OUSD sits in the same tier as USDC and USDT: Bridge issues it on its own terms, and once it’s in your wallet you decide where it goes.

Four launch networks also means four places your OUSD could land, and the Zypto multichain wallet already moves value across Base, Ethereum and Solana from one app.

HSBC names its Hong Kong dollar coin

HSBC named its Hong Kong dollar stablecoin HSBC RedCoin and said it will launch in the second half of 2026 through the PayMe payments app and the HSBC HK Mobile App. Person-to-person transfers and payments to merchants come first, with corporate and institutional uses to follow.

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority granted HSBC one of the city’s first stablecoin issuer licenses on April 10. In an HSBC survey of 1,060 Hong Kong customers, 74% could name at least one way they’d use a stablecoin. “Launching our coin is just the beginning,” said Maggie Ng, HSBC’s Hong Kong CEO.

Zypto take: Paying a friend and paying a shop are the right first jobs for a stablecoin, and putting RedCoin inside PayMe hands it to people who may never open a crypto app. At launch it stays inside HSBC’s own apps, so the bank holds it for you. Zypto App keeps your stablecoins in a wallet you hold yourself, and it can show your balance in Hong Kong dollars. Download Zypto App.

Jeeves takes its stablecoin card to 35 countries

Jeeves, a finance platform for businesses, raised $110 million in an equity round led by CoinFund, with AllianceBernstein, Andreessen Horowitz and Coinbase Ventures taking part. Its stablecoin volume went from effectively zero to $1.5 billion annualized in eight months.

The money funds a stablecoin card expansion from 25 to 35 countries, adding Argentina, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama and Peru among others, plus a stablecoin wallet of its own with instant payouts to 190 countries. Clients include BMW, H&M, Lululemon and Burger King.

Zypto take: A company card business going from zero to $1.5 billion a year in stablecoin volume in eight months shows how its clients want money to cross borders. Zypto Pay covers the receiving side for merchants: accept crypto online or in person, and settle in fiat or 100+ cryptocurrencies with 0% merchant-side processing fees.

Base gives token issuers new controls

Base activated its Cobalt upgrade, the Ethereum layer 2’s third major upgrade. Users can now send conditional transactions that execute only when set onchain conditions are met, such as a swap that becomes eligible only if an asset reaches a price before a block deadline.

For issuers, Cobalt expands the B20 token standard so one asset can carry several compliance checks at once, such as identity verification, accredited-investor status and sanctions screening. Issuers can schedule stock splits that change what a wallet displays without touching balances. They can also let authorized administrators move tokens out of a holder’s wallet without approval, with a public note attached; Base said issuers decide whether to enable that, and the network itself can’t start such a transfer. Coinbase launched tokenized US stocks on Base in August.

Zypto take: Cobalt makes the ownership tiers easy to see. A tokenized stock on Base sits in the issuer-controlled tier, where an administrator can now move it if the issuer allows, while ETH on Base has no issuer at all. Before you hold any real world asset token, find out what its issuer can do once it’s in your wallet.

Key Takeaways

  • Stablecoins are spreading through distributors: Open Standard pays the apps that carry OUSD, and HSBC is putting RedCoin into an app people already use.
  • Two of today’s stories are business tools first, and Jeeves’ stablecoin payouts and OUSD’s 200-plus partners show where company money is heading.
  • Each of today’s new tokens arrives with an issuer and terms, and Base’s Cobalt upgrade writes those terms into the token itself.
  • The habit worth building is simple: know who issued what you hold, what they can do with it, and where you can move it.
  • As more apps hand out digital dollars, the wallet you keep them in decides how far they can travel.
