What is Tellor Tributes?
Tellor is a decentralized oracle protocol that brings off-chain data, such as price feeds, on-chain for smart contracts to use. It works through an open, incentive-based system: data reporters stake tokens and compete to submit requested values, and anyone can dispute a submission they believe is wrong and claim the bad reporter's stake. This staking and dispute design is meant to keep reported data accurate without a central provider.
TRB, the Tellor Tributes token, is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. It is staked by reporters to participate, paid out as rewards and tips for answering data requests, and used to back the dispute mechanism.
Tellor was founded in 2019 and is one of the longer-running decentralized oracle projects.
