What is Bitcoin Cash?
Bitcoin Cash emerged from a 2017 split, or fork, of the Bitcoin network. It was created to increase the block size so the network could handle more transactions and keep fees low, with an emphasis on everyday payments and use as a medium of exchange.
The BCH coin is produced through proof-of-work mining using the SHA-256 algorithm, the same as Bitcoin. Its supporters favor a design oriented toward spending and merchant payments rather than holding alone.
