What is Renzo?
Renzo is a liquid restaking protocol built on Ethereum that works as a strategy manager for EigenLayer. Users deposit ETH or liquid staking tokens and receive ezETH, a liquid restaking token that represents their position while continuing to earn rewards. The aim is to simplify access to restaking yields without locking funds away.
REZ is Renzo's governance token. It lets holders vote on protocol proposals and is separate from ezETH, which is the yield-bearing position token. REZ launched in April 2024 with a large total supply. As a newer DeFi protocol tied to restaking, it carries smart-contract and yield-strategy risks worth understanding.
