What is Polymesh?

Polymesh is a public layer-1 blockchain built on the Substrate framework and purpose-built for tokenizing regulated and real-world assets such as securities. Its open-source code was developed by Polymath, and the network was launched by the Switzerland-based Polymesh Association in October 2021. Rather than serving general-purpose apps, it bakes identity, compliance, confidentiality, and deterministic finality into the protocol itself, and it launched with regulated entities running its validator nodes.

POLYX is the network's native token. It pays transaction and protocol fees, secures the chain through staking, and is used to signal support within Polymesh's on-chain governance. Swiss regulators have classified it as a utility token.

Polymesh is an established, niche network focused on institutional and regulated-asset use cases, so its activity tracks that sector rather than broad retail trading. You can check the Polymesh price and keep POLYX in a self-custody wallet where you hold the keys.
