What is Honey?
Honey is the native stablecoin of Berachain, a layer 1 blockchain that uses a proof-of-liquidity consensus model. HONEY is fully collateralized and soft-pegged to the US dollar. It is minted by depositing whitelisted collateral assets into vaults, and it acts as a base currency for payments and for lending and trading applications across the Berachain ecosystem.
HONEY is one part of Berachain's three-token design, working alongside the BERA gas and governance token and the BGT reward token. Its collateral mix and per-asset minting rates are configurable through BGT governance. Honey and Berachain launched their mainnet in early 2025.
