What is Lombard?
Lombard is a Bitcoin liquid staking protocol that lets Bitcoin holders put their BTC to work in decentralized finance instead of leaving it idle. Its main product is LBTC, a liquid staked token backed 1:1 by staked Bitcoin. Users stake BTC, receive LBTC, and can then lend, borrow, or supply liquidity across DeFi while still earning a Bitcoin staking yield. The underlying staking runs through the Babylon protocol.
BARD is Lombard's native token. It is used for governance, for staking to help secure the network, and for accessing protocol rewards and utilities, with a maximum supply of one billion tokens. Lombard launched LBTC in 2024 and introduced the BARD token in 2025, so BARD is a relatively new asset and its market history is short. LBTC is available across multiple blockchains, including Ethereum and other supported networks.
