What is Aztec?
Aztec is a privacy-focused Layer 2 network built on Ethereum. It uses zero-knowledge proofs to let developers build smart contracts where they choose what stays private and what is public, covering identity, data, and computation. Transactions settle to Ethereum, so the network inherits Ethereum's security while adding confidential transactions and private state on top.
AZTEC is the network's native token. Aztec is a newer project: its mainnet, the Ignition Chain, went live in late 2025, and the AZTEC token launched around the same time through a public token sale. Because it is so recent, AZTEC has only a brief market history, and its ecosystem and tooling are still maturing.

How is Aztec priced?
Aztec trades 24 hours a day, and its price comes from supply and demand across many exchanges at once. The number above is a live, volume-weighted average of those markets. Because it trades continuously and worldwide, the price can move sharply within a single day. Past performance is no guarantee of future results, and nothing here is financial advice.
Where can I hold Aztec?
You can hold Aztec in any non-custodial wallet, which means you control the private keys rather than trusting an exchange. Zypto App is a non-custodial multichain wallet where you can hold AZTEC and swap it into 24,000+ assets. AZTEC isn't accepted as a payment method yet, so it can't be used for real-world spending in Zypto.
